Xiaomi will introduce 8K TVs next week
On September 24, the Chinese company Xiaomi will hold a presentation of new products, including the Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi Mix 4 smartphones. In addition, new televisions equipped with 8K matrices will be presented to the general public.
In anticipation of this event, a teaser image appeared in the official Xiaomi account on the Weibo network, confirming that the new Mi TV Pro series will receive support for 8K resolution. Currently, Xiaomi produces TVs with different matrices, the resolution of which reaches a mark in 4K. It can be assumed that the new series of TVs Mi TV Pro will be premium.
Not so long ago, at an event in India, Xiaomi launched four televisions, including the 65-inch Mi TV 4X. Before this, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand introduced its first TV in China. More recently, Xiaomi announced the imminent start of sales of the 70-inch Mi TV 4A.
It is worth saying that Xiaomi is not the first company producing TVs with support for 8K resolution. South Korean companies Samsung and LG have already introduced their own 8K-TVs. At the same time, the Samsung QLED 8K TV costs about $ 5,000, while the LG OLED 8K should soon go on retail for up to $ 30,000.
In recent years, Xiaomi TVs have been very popular in China, India and some other countries. In the near future, the company may face serious competition in this segment, as other major smartphone manufacturers enter the smart TV market.
