Samsung smartphones will be able to connect to Android Auto media systems wirelessly
In April last year, the Android Auto car platform acquired support for the wireless connection of a smartphone – Android Auto Wireless. Then it was said that sooner or later, owners of all cellular devices with the current version of the Android operating system will be able to use this function. However, until now, the list of smartphones compatible with Android Auto Wireless has been limited to Nexus 5X and 6P devices, as well as devices from the Pixel family. And now there is information that the list of compatible equipment has begun to expand.
Recall that the Android Auto system provides access to the applications and functions of the smartphone through the car media center. Management is carried out using the buttons on the steering wheel, touch screen or voice assistant. Initially, the smartphone was connected via cable. Android Auto Wireless allows you to use Wi-Fi technology instead of a wired connection.
An updated list of devices compatible with the Android Auto Wireless function has appeared on the Google site in the “Getting Started with Android Auto” section. It includes a number of Samsung devices.
This, in particular, smartphones Galaxy S8 and S8, Galaxy S9 and S9, Galaxy S10 and S10, as well as Galaxy Note 8, Note 9 and Note 10 phablets.
Obviously, in the future, the list of compatible models will expand, and other manufacturers will appear in it.
