Samsung patented a docking station with a holographic projector

Following the leak of information in a Samsung smartphone with a built-in spectrometer in the network, a new, no less original patent of a South Korean vendor appeared. This time, details about advanced accessories became known, the chip of which will be an interactive holographic display. According to a document published by the LetsGoDigital portal, the device is a docking station for smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy line with a holographic projection function for displaying various supporting information directly above the screen of the device.

The patent also describes various options for interacting with a holographic image, including reading contacts, playing music, and messaging.

According to the source, the images from the display panel will be reflected in a translucent mirror at an angle to the reflective element – the reflected image will be projected in the air. Possible date of sale and the price of new items are unknown. According to rumors, an unusual gadget may debut simultaneously with the Samsung Galaxy S11 smartphone next year, but this information has not yet been confirmed by the manufacturer.
