Journalists tested the Nintendo 3DS emulator for Android
Retromania has long captured gamers, and it is not surprising that enthusiasts are eager to create working emulators of old consoles that would show themselves worthily on smartphones. The authors of the unofficial port of Citra, the popular software for playing Nintendo 3DS games, achieved very noticeable results: the journalists who tested the program were satisfied. True, there was a small “but”: they needed sophisticated phones for experiments.
At the disposal of the employees of the XDA Developers portal there were several gadgets on which the port was tested. So, the smartphone ASUS ROG Phone II proved to be quite worthy with Fire Emblem: Awakening. Yes, there were slight delays, but experts believe that overall problems are minimized. Significantly worse things were with Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Journalists experienced some difficulties with the frame rate on both the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom and the OnePlus 7 Pro. over, if you close your eyes to low fps, the simulator itself turned out to be quite playable.
Pokemon X also showed itself well, but the authors, oddly enough, in the case of it, did NOT tell which smartphone they used to start the game. But they noted that the well-deserved hit is not only playable, but also feels great on Android in general. The only serious minus is the lack of sound, but it is quite possible that it will appear with an update.
