Introduced Huawei Mate 30 Series – A Range of Smartphone Innovations

Displays and Design
The Mate 30 has a 6.62-inch (19.5: 9) OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. There is support for DCI-P3 HDR.
The case is 160.8 mm high, 76.1 mm wide, 8.4 mm thick, weighs 196 grams, dustproof and waterproof according to IP53 standard.
The Mate 30 Pro uses a super-curved OLED screen, with a bend angle of 88 °, without frames on the sides. The display diagonal is 6.53 inches (18.4: 9), resolution 2400 x 1176 pixels, DCI-P3 wide color gamut coverage.
Thanks to the fillets, the Huawei Mate30 Pro is no longer side volume keys. To adjust the sound you just need to drag your finger along the side, mechanical tactile feedback via vibration is also provided. Using this solution you can also move the “shutter release” of the camera to any convenient position.
Case height 158.1 mm, width 73.1 mm, thickness 8.8 mm, weight 198 grams. Protection against water and dust according to the IP68 standard.
The cutout at the top of the display in the Mate 30 Pro includes: a position sensor, a 3D camera for determining depth, an ambient light and proximity sensor, and a selfie camera. But compared to the iPhone 11, the Pro Max takes up less space.
There is support for AOD, dark mode and dynamic hand-eye design. Support for “AI Space Control”.
The Mate 30 series is available in four colors: silver, green, purple and black.
In the Huawei Mate 30 series, they use the Kirin 990 series processor, made by TSMC according to the 7-nm process technology + EUV. It combines up to 10.3 billion transistors. This is the industry’s first mobile SoC in which board space is reduced by 36% compared to the previous generation.
The Kirin 990 combines two large Cortex-A76 cores and the remaining Cortex-A55 cores. Clock frequencies of the processor Kirin 990 5G: 2.86 GHz + 2.36 GHz + 1.95 GHz. Kirin 990: 2.86 GHz + 2.09 GHz + 1.86 GHz. At the same time, the industry’s first integrated 16-core Mali-G76 graphics processor is implemented here. Combined processor performance increased by 23%, GPU performance increased by 39%, NPU performance increased by 460%.
The Kirin 990 continues to integrate the NPU neural network module and for the first time uses a variety of kernel sizes. The large core is based on the same DaVinci architecture as the Kirin 810, and the Ascension core also appeared. This unit has the highest AI performance in the industry and is responsible for high-load AI operations. The core is called “Tiny Core” and has extremely low power consumption, especially for some low-load AI operations. The Kirin 990 5G version includes two large cores and one microkernel. The Kirin 990 Standard Edition is a large core and microkernel, because the 5G version should “collide” with heavier applications.
As for 5G, the Kirin 990 has an integrated 5G baseband, unified support for 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G modes, NSA independent and SA independent network mode, full TDD / FDD range, supports full Netcom 5G and speeds up to 2.3 Gbps / s, for download, up to 1.25 Gbit / s, for download.
The Huawei Mate 30 series is equipped with a new generation of cameras from Leica.
The Mate 30 combines three sensors: 16 megapixels (ultra wide-angle) + 40 megapixels (wide-angle) + 8 megapixels (telephoto). There is support for 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, 30x digital zoom. Front 24 MP.
The Mate 30 Pro is equipped with more powerful four sensors: 40 megapixels (main sensor) + 40 megapixels (wide-angle sensor, with a 1 / 1.7-inch sensor) + 8 megapixels (telephoto lens) + 3D sensor. The main sensor and telephoto lens support OIS optical image stabilization. The Mate 30 Pro can take 7,680 frames of ultra-fast photography and supports 256x slow motion.
The front camera Mate 30 Pro – 32 megapixels, it supports 3D-sensing and portrait mode professional level.
The battery in the Mate 30 is 4200 mAh, and the Mate 30 Pro has 4500 mAh. Both support fast wired charging of 40 watts, fast wireless charging of 27 watts and reverse charging.
The EMUI 10 shell based on Android 10. The new UX design and ease of interaction between Windows and Android are brought. Having connected the keyboard and mouse to the smartphone, it turns into a PC replacement. Multi-screen collaboration is an updated version of Huawei’s well-known HuaweiShare technology. After connecting the computer, you can share resources between the smartphone and the PC.
After connecting these two devices, the smartphone display will be displayed on the PC. Music, text, documents and other materials can be directly dragged from a PC, or from a mobile phone. It can support the library, file manager, mail and notes, etc. Two-way application drag and drop provides fast reading and sharing of resources, coordinated work and efficient office work.
