Huawei began testing a new firmware with Android 10 on the “old” flagships
Huawei has announced in the official community that it has begun testing a proprietary shell based on the latest Android 10 operating system for nearly a dozen smartphone models.
So far, the company has been inviting users for closed beta testing in China. We are talking about such models: Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, Mate 20 X (4G), Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor V20 and Honor Magic 2.
Smartphones under the Huawei brand will receive the EMUI 10 shell, and Honor – Magic UI 3.0. Both of them are add-ons for Android 10. At the first stage of testing, 500 users should participate, and then another 1,500 users will join.
The release of the final versions of EMUI 10.0 and Magic UI 3.0 for all these smartphones is scheduled for December 2019. The first smartphones with “out of the box” Android 10 installed were the flagships of the Mate 30 series. The spring flagships of the Huawei P30 should be worn in November. In March 2020, an update is planned for the Mate 10, P20 and P30 Lite.
