Deactivate Lock Screen
There are no built-in settings to turn off the lock screen in Windows 10. But there are several ways by which you can deactivate the appearance of the lock screen by manually changing the computer settings.
Through the registry (one-time)
This method is only suitable if you need to turn off the screen once, since after rebooting the device, the parameters will be restored and the lock will begin to occur again.
- Open the Run window by holding down the WinR combination.
- Type regedit and click OK. A registry opens, in which you will need to step through the folders:
- The AllowLockScreen file is located in the final folder, change its parameter to 0. Done, the lock screen is deactivated.
Set the AllowLockScreen parameter to "0"
Through the registry (forever)
- Open the Run window by holding down the WinR combination.
- Type regedit and click OK. In the registry window, go through the folders alternately:
- If any of the above sections is missing, create it yourself. When you reach the destination folder, create a parameter in it with the name NoLockScreen, bit 32, DWORD format and value 1. Done, it remains to save the changes and reboot the device for them to take effect.
Create a NoLockScreen parameter with a value of 1
Through task creation
This method will allow you to deactivate the lock screen permanently:
Expand the "Task Scheduler" by finding it in the search.
Open the "Task Scheduler" to create a task to deactivate the lock screen
Proceed to create a new task.
In the "Actions" window, select "Create a simple task. "
Register any name, give the highest permissions and indicate that the task is configured for Windows 10.
We name the task, issue the highest rights and indicate that it is for Windows 10
Go to the “Triggers” block and fill out two parameters: when entering the system and when the user unlocks the workstation.
We create two triggers to completely turn off the lock screen when any user logs in.
Go to the “Actions” block, start creating an action called “Launch the program”. In the line “Program or script” write the value of reg, in the line “Arguments” write the line (add HKLM \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Authentication \ LogonUI \ SessionData / t REG_DWORD / v AllowLockScreen / d 0 / f). Done, save all the changes, the lock screen will no longer appear until you turn off the task yourself.
We register the action of turning off the lock screen
Through local policy
This method is suitable only for users of Windows 10 Professional and older editions, since there is no local policy editor in the home versions of the system.
Expand the Run window by holding down the WinR combination and use the gpedit.msc command.
We execute the gpedit.msc command
Expand your computer’s configuration, go to the administrative template block, in it go to the “Control Panel” subsection and to the “Personalization” destination folder.
Go to the "Personalization" folder
Open the “Lock screen lock screen” file and set it to “Enabled”. Done, save the changes and close the editor.
Through deleting a folder
The lock screen is a program stored in a folder, so you can open Explorer, go to the System_section: \ Windows \ SystemApps path and delete the Microsoft.LockApp_cw5n1h2txyewy folder. Done, the lock screen will disappear. But deleting a folder is not recommended, it is better to cut it out or rename it in order to be able to restore deleted files in the future.
Delete the Microsoft.LockApp_cw5n1h2txyewy folder
In Windows 10, a lock screen appears every time you log in. The user can customize the screen for themselves by changing the background, setting a slide show or password. If necessary, you can cancel the appearance of the lock screen in several non-standard ways.
